Volunteer Visit

After our week in the village we were off to the volunteer visit. We each stayed with different volunteers for a few days to get an idea how a volunteer lives. I got to go to Savaii – the other island – and spend some time with Leah. Leah is a village based volunteer who lives in a cute little house next to a fresh-water “pool” in which people come and pay to bathe in. I got to take my first fa’a Samoan bath in the pool. It was great. I got really good at showering in front of many people (mostly little kids and men)! I think I will be a pro at doing this on future camping trips in Colorado!

Leah and I also got to ride bikes to the beach and hang out all day. It was beautiful and only cost $3 each for all day. We relaxed, talk and read.

During Sa for two nights we read scripture – from Psalms – together. It was another great time of fellowship.

I need to give a special thanks to all my friends and family back home that is praying for fellowship for me out here in Samoa. Clearly, God is providing for me and I know that it is due to your diligent prayers. Thank you! I am more of a complete person because of you in my life. As much as I miss you all, I feel so close to you in spirit.
