FiaFia

Saturday night was the FiaFia, which is a celebration that the Peace Corps Volunteers and staff put together for the trainees as an official welcoming. The party started off with numerous acts, including traditional Samoan singing and dancing, slap dancing and a fire dancing performance. The fire dancing was phenomenal.

The volunteers then invited the trainees to eat first, and we got to choose from a wide variety of foods that they prepared for us. The food was excellent and included a couple roasted pigs and coconuts to drink.

The staff left and the volunteers brought out a cooler of a tropical drink and served us drinks and we played a couple of games. It was a great time getting to know the other volunteers on a deeper level.
